55 India Condominiums
55 India Condominiums
55 India Street, Boston MA, 02110
The proposed 55 India Street condominiums are a brand-new luxury development on the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston, bridging the Financial District and Waterfront. The excellent location is just a short walk from the Seaport, North End, and downtown core, offering exceptional access to dining, recreational, and business hotspots.
Developed by Boston Residential Group (BRG), the project is located on the last available development parcel along the Greenway, a site rich in history, having been part of Charles Bulfinch's original India Wharf development project of 1805. The site was later impacted by the elevated Central Artery expressway in the 1950s and then reclaimed following the Big Dig. The 12-story, mixed-use tower, which is designed by Hacin + Associates, is proposed to have a high-design aesthetic that sensitively fits within the historic context of the neighborhood. The development incorporates a masonry volume to ground it in the historic Town Cove subdistrict, while also incorporating a more contemporary glassy facade along the Greenway.
The structure will contain 29 boutique luxury condominium residences; mainly three-bedroom and two-bath residences, with only three residences per floor. Some of the residences will feature private balconies and dramatic views of the waterfront, the Greenway, and the Boston skyline. The building will include "white glove service" and various amenities, including a doorman, resident storage, and bicycle storage. One of the most exciting elements of the mixed-use design is the ground-floor and mezzanine commercial space that will be taken up by a fine dining restaurant with outdoor seating space overlooking the Greenway, further activating the pedestrian area. The building satisfies an eager need for new, luxury, three-bedroom homeownership options in the downtown Boston marketplace.
